The following documents must be submitted:

• Current registration confirmation (registration form)

• Current tenancy agreement (if available)

• Copy of official photo ID (e.g. student ID card)

• Bank statements for the last 3 months or a statement of annual income (12 months)

• Confirmation of enrolment and proof of academic achievement

Regarding ownership rights to another residential property, we ask you to provide a sworn statement. The relevant form is available during the process of submitting.

Optional, if specified in the form / if available:

• Copy of employment contract or payslips (covering at least three months’ income)

• Written proof of giving up your current accommodation (e.g. notice of termination from the landlord)

• Copy of the student grant notification or other proof of student financial support

• Copy of disability card or written proof of a disability

• Written proof of a positive decision regarding student financial support

• Written proof of voluntary work

• Written proof of activity as a student representative / member of the hall of residence council

• Written proof for all other information provided, where possible

Applicants who have been allocated accommodation by the ÖH Uni Innsbruck after 1 January 2026 and who continue to live in the accommodation allocated to them will not be eligible for further allocation when their current tenancy agreement expires. Tenancy agreements are concluded for a term of five years

Below you will find the key criteria for a successful allocation. Applications will be considered from students at the Leopold Franzens University of Innsbruck (LFU), Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI), University of Applied Sciences for Health (FhG) and Tyrolean University of Education (PHT). Students from other institutions cannot apply for a room in a shared flat or a flat allocated by the ÖH Uni Innsbruck.

A valid confirmation of enrolment and a satisfactory academic record of at least 16 ECTS credits, die in den letzten beiden Semestern im entsprechenden Studiengang absolviert wurden. Wurden innerhalb der letzten beiden vergangenen Semestern keine 16 ECTS-Punkte erreicht, so liegt ein günstiger Studienerfolg im Sinne dieser Richtlinien dennoch vor, wenn eine unverschuldete Verzögerung des Studienfortschritts glaubhaft begründet werden kann (z.B. auf Grund von Krankheit, Betreuungspflichten, Erwerbstätigkeit etc.). Die diesbezügliche Entscheidung obliegt dem Referat für Heime und Wohnen an der ÖH Uni Innsbruck im Einvernehmen mit dem Wohnungsvergabeausschuss.

You can only register for a flat if your main residence is registered in Innsbruck and you have not yet reached the age of 30 at the time of application. 18 years old when the tenancy agreement is signed.

Foreign nationals undertaking an Erasmus programme or studying as part of an exchange programme, as well as international students who require accommodation for a period of less than one calendar year, are excluded from the allocation process. Students from the aforementioned higher education institutions in Innsbruck who are spending a semester abroad as part of an Erasmus programme are exempt from this rule; however, the existing tenancy agreement remains valid for a maximum of one semester.

Applicants who meet all the basic requirements will be ranked according to the general points system, starting with the applicant with the highest score. We therefore ask you to carefully review the Richtlinien für die Vergabe von WG-Zimmer und Wohnungen:

As a general rule: Applicants whose total monthly income exceeds three times the applicable minimum income threshold of any kind (i.e. including pocket money, student grants, etc.) are ineligible for allocation.

The average monthly income is calculated on the basis of the last three months or on the basis of the annual income (divided by 12). After six months on the ranked allocation list, the Department for Housing and Accommodation may request the submission of a current income statement.

The following section sets out the criteria relevant to the allocation of points in accordance with the guidelines for the allocation of shared-house rooms and flats. No accommodation may be allocated to members of the Housing Allocation Committee.

In cases of hardship, the Housing Allocation Committee is entitled at any time, by majority decision, to award special points and to give priority to applicants under the same conditions.

The Housing Allocation Committee is responsible for excluding from the allocation process any persons who meet the basic requirements. Any such decision must be taken unanimously. Verifiable and deliberately provided false information will result in automatic exclusion from the allocation process. The assessment of this matter is the responsibility of the Housing Allocation Committee.
